Kaufland store number 1.500 in Europe opens in Bucharest

Kaufland opened today, November 24, in Bucharest, its 1.500 store in Europe. This is Kaufland’s 20th hypermarket in the Romanian capital.

With a total area of ​​5.000 sqm and a sales space of 3.400 sqm, the new hypermarket is equipped with modern solutions and technologies, which ensure high standards of energy efficiency. These include the LED lighting system, with motion sensor and heat recovery systems.

Also, it is supplied with green electricity, having photovoltaic panels on an area of ​​over 550 square meters, in which about 100.000 euros have been invested. Moreover, the store has a green roof of over 1.500 square meters.

The new hypermarket is equipped with 8 standard cash registers and another 10 self-checkout express cash registers and will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday, respectively 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sundays .

The parking lot has a capacity of about 270 places, of which 11 are for disabled people and 7 for parents. It is equipped with charging stations for electric cars and bike racks.

Kaufland has stores in Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova. In Romania it has 158 stores.
