Italy: Industrial new orders index decreased by 26.5% in March

The seasonally adjusted industrial new orders index decreased by 26.5% compared to February (-29.9% in domestic market and -21.4% in non-domestic market), Istat shows.

The first quarter decreased by 9.5% compared to the last quarter of 2019 (-12.2% in domestic market and -5.7% in non-domestic market).

With respect to the same month of the previous year the calendar adjusted industrial turnover index decreased by 25.2% (-27.6% in domestic market and -20.7% in non-domestic market).

Calendar working days in March 2020 were 22, one more than March 2019.

The unadjusted industrial new orders index decreased by 26.6% with respect to the same month of the previous year (-29.3% in domestic market and -23.1% in non-domestic market).

The seasonally adjusted volume turnover index (only for the manufacturing sector) decreased by 24.4% compared to the previous month; the first quarter decreased by 6.8% compared to the fourth quarter of the last year. The calendar adjusted volume turnover index decreased by 24.7% with respect to the same month of the previous year.
