Greek startups attracted investments of over USD 1 billion in 2021

Greek startups attracted 1 billion dollars in capital investments in 2021, Deputy Minister for Development and Investments Yannis Tsakiris said, cited by Greek website Business Daily.

Mister Tsakiris said that the European startup ecosystem proved to be very resilient despite the Ukraine war, creating 21 new ”unicorn” companies in Q2 2022 alone.

There were 187 new companies which managed to maintain quarterly growth rates and the minister said that the Greek startup ecosystem is continuing to attract investors and to show signs of maturing. 

Also, for Yannis Tsakiris „Greek startups stand out for their high innovation and human potential levels”.
