Four European companies are on Top 20 Best Global Brands in 2022

For the seventh consecutive year, Mercedes‑Benz retained its position as the only European brand and the only luxury brand in the automotive sector in the top 10 of the 100 “Best Global Brands”, with a value that increased by 10% to USD 56.103 billion since 2021.

In 2022 Best Global Brands top, Mercedes-Benz sits in 8th place, while the next automotive maker, Tesla sits in 12th place and BMW in the 13th position.

Other European brands on Top 20 for 2022 are Louis Vuitton, with a brand value of almost USD 45 bln in 14th place and German software company SAP that sits in 20th place with a brand value just over USD 31 bln.

On the other hand, European brands dominate the top for Luxury goods (Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermes, Gucci, Cartier, Dior, Prada and Burbery filling 8 out of 9 positions in this section) and Retail (Ikea, Zara, H&M and Sephora being the world’s top brands in this section).

Top 5 are made by technology companies. Apple is the world’s best brand, with a value of almost USD 500 bln, followed by Microsoft with a brand value of USD 278 bln, Amazon (USD 274 bln), Google (USD 251 bln) and Samsung with a brand value of almost USD 88 bln.
